As part of the joint work on May 30, 2019, a state project on free screening of women for early stage breast cancer detection will take part in Pharmrobeg in the Kaluga Region. This pathology takes first place in the structure of cancer of women. Annually, malignant neoplasms of the mammary gland are diagnosed in more than 500 residents of the region. About 150 thousand women over the age of 40 years must undergo a mammogram examination annually.
The project was launched in the Kaluga region with the support and participation of the Kaluga Regional Clinical Oncology Center. In order to bring this type of diagnosis closer to the population and increase its accessibility in April of this year, mobile medical complexes began to operate in the region.
The project was organized on the initiative of the Government of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the National Medical Research Center for Radiology, the Mandatory Medical Insurance Fund and since 2018 has been implemented as part of the state program for the early detection of breast cancer.
According to the schedule, free examinations are carried out in medical institutions and mobile medical complexes in all areas of the Kaluga region.
