In Kaluga, for a year already, every woman can undergo a free breast examination and, if necessary, receive surgical treatment. Mammographic systems are mobile, which makes it accessible to all women in the region. I The All-Russian Pharmaceutical Run was unable to drive past the four-wheeled counterparts, and took part in the project.
Participants of the I All-Russian Pharmaceutical Run were given the opportunity to evaluate the results of the draft state program for the detection of early stage breast cancer in the Kaluga Region. This project started in May 2018, and during its implementation 17457 women were examined, which revealed 78 breast cancers, 93 cases of benign tumors that required surgical intervention, and 87 breast dysplasias, including precancerous situations.
The state program of free large-scale mammoscreening plans to start in 2019 in other regions of Russia.

According to the WHO, breast cancer is one of the most common oncological diseases in the world, more than 1.5 million new cases are registered every year, approximately 400,000 cases end in a tragic outcome. The procedure is performed on a modern low-dose mammograph Mammo-ROC. The small pixel size of the digital detector, high spatial resolution (at least 10 pairs of lines / mm), as well as a low dose of radiation provide the best result in screening studies.
